TCS RotorCast

Our TCS RotorCast is a complete production system that allows you to produce medium/large rotors for induction motors via high pressure vertical die casting. Rotors are obtained by injecting liquid aluminum from the bottom up into the die, without preheating the lamination stack.

Key features

Fully automatic casting

with typical cycle times from 3 to 8 minutes

Complete line productivity

from 4 to 6 finished rotors per hour

Rotor ext. Diameter

from 240 to 600 mm

Standard gross aluminum capacity

up to 170 kg

Designed to perfection

By using short, direct injection channels, our proprietary design allows vertical upward-injection of aluminum while air is vented from the opposite side. Stack loading and rotor unloading are easy thanks to a horizontally-sliding table.

Casting quality and consistency are granted by the integrated temperature control system, which ensures the main components coming into contact with the molten metal (mold and injection group) are in the proper conditions for every casting cycle.

TCS RotorCast works best in concert with our DOLAM press, to prepare the stack, and REMAN press, to remove the casting mandrel and insert the final shaft while the cast rotor is still hot.
These machines, when combined, lead to increased efficiency and resource savings.

Advantages

High production rates: Fully automatic operations, including aluminum dosing, lubrication, slug separation, ejection, removal and recirculation towards the oven, ensure efficiency and speed.

Quick die change: Minimal downtime with production change ranging 20-30 minutes.

Enhanced cast part quality: The machine injects molten metal vertically, reducing turbulence and gas entrapment, resulting in lower porosity and improved electrical efficiency of the cast parts.

Versatility: The casting press is adaptable to open and closed slots, and to a wide range of stack dimensions – up to 600 mm diameter and 1000 mm height.

Easy loading/unloading: Lamination stack loading and rotor unloading are done on a sliding table outside the casting are and are assisted by a dedicated overhead monorail, which assists the operators in the transfer between the different stations.
